Chocolate cinnamon flan | Chocolate caramel custard | Quick & easy pudding

" Anything is good if it is made of chocolate"
~ Jo brand ~

As the famous comedian Jo brand says anything is good if it is made of chocolate. The other day I had some guests over and I was way to lazy to cook up a meal but than when I had to . So I decided to go easy with the main course as well as the dessert. So I decided to do a flan. But my hubby has this major problem with desserts which has a jelly texture in it and smells egg. So I thought of giving it as twist with cinnamon and chocolate. Came out pretty neat. And chocolate actually did the magic.

Serves - 6
Prep time - 20 mins
Bake time - 15 - 20 mins

Ingridients

  • Eggs - 06
  • Milk - 1/2 ltr
  • Condense milk - 1 tin
  • Coco powder - 4 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
  • Vanilla essence - few drops
For the caramel

  • Sugar - 3/4th cup.

Method

  1. Mix milk, vanilla essence & eggs beat well keep aside. Now in the condense milk add coco powder, cinnamon powder. Mix till smooth paste is formed. Now beat both the mixers together. Keep aside.
  2. Take a metal sauce pan melt sugar till it's golden brown in colour and completely watery.( Make sure not to over heat it as it might burn very fast.)
  3. Pour the caramel immediately into the baking dish.(as if u delay the caramel would solidify as the temperature would go down even a bit)( I have used individual ramekins but you may used a big baking dish as well)
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the caramel.
  5. Bake for 15mins or till you see the caramel oozing out on the sides of the baking dish.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for an hour.
  7. Serve it chilled with a dollop of whipped cream.
