Triple - Chocolate Mousse Cake | Dessert | Eggless


Just realized I have not done even a single savory item in the past couple of months.... Well, you all can imagine the crazy sweet tooth that I have. Over the years i have come in terms with the fact that its desserts/cakes/cookies that i enjoying making the most and these are the things my family and friends appreciate the most too.



Every time i have people visiting me over the first thing that comes to my mind is ... Whats for dessert ?? The main course is usually taken care of. Same happened yesterday too, My friends called saying that they will be here at my place for dinner so i was all set with my dessert but than they decided otherwise and the dessert went into my tummy and few neighbor's .


So before i polish off the entire 
Triple-chocolate mousse cake 
I decided to quickly put up the post for you all.

Bake time - 20 mins
Prep time - 20 mins
Setting time - 20 mins

INGREDIENTS 

FOR THE PASTRY
  • 225 grms - Plain flour
  • 02 tbsp - Coco powder
  • 100 grms - Butter ( I have used regular table butter)
  • 02 tbsp - Castor Sugar
  • Few drops of chilled water to form dough.
FOR THE FILLING 
  • 150 grms - Plain chocolate
  • 150 grms - White chocolate
  • 1/2 cup - Castor sugar
  • 01 tin - Cream cheese 
  • 02 Cups - Whipped cream
METHOD
  1. To make pastry - sift the flour and cocoa into a mixing bowl. Rub in the butter with fingertips into the mixture till it looks like bread crumbs. add sugar and enough cold water to make a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep aside for 5 mins .
  2. Roll the pastry to line the loose base tart tin. And poke the pastry with a fork so that it doesn't rise while baking. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 15-20 mins. Cool and keep aside.
  3. To make the filling - melt dark chocolate a double boiler and keep aside to cool. Mean while beat sugar and cream cheese together till its fluffy and smooth. keep aside.
  4. Now fold in the whipped cream in the cream cheese and divide the mixture into two. 
  5. Add the dark chocolate into one mixture and pour it over the chocolate pastry prepared earlier and put it into the fridge to set .
  6. Till than melt the white chocolate in a double boiler and repeat the above method.
  7. Pour the white chocolate mixture over the dark chocolate and let it set for 20 mins.
  8. Dust coco powder over it and serve chilled.
