Puff Pastry | Cinnamon Bites

Puff pastry at home. When I was a little one my mom used to prepare a lavish spread on every birthday of mine. And the spread was endless. She would prepare everything from cake, cup cakes, savoury puff pastry to sweet cream rolls. Flacky Puff pastry are one of the remembered part of my childhood.

Method is a little tedious but one can make these sheets & store them in the refrigerators.

Btw, the coffee mug at the background is my favorite off late, available in 6 different colors. You can buy it here .

Moderately difficult
Bake time - 08 min.

  • 100 grms - Butter ( chilled & cut into cubes ).
  • 1/2 tsp - Salt.
  • 01 tsp - Baking powder.
  • Ice cold water for kneading.
FOR THE FILLING
  • Cinnamon powder.

  • Butter for brushing.
Method
  1. Sift flour, baking powder & salt together.
  2. Add butter and rub the mixture well, add just about enough water to make a tough dough.
  3. Cover the bowl with dough with cling film & keep aside in the fridge for 20mins.
  4. Lightly flour your surface and roll the dough into a big circle.
  5. Put the butter in the centre of the pastry and fold over the right and left sides of the circle, overlapping in the middle.
  6. Press the dough with your rolling pin to make it longer and then lightly mark into three portions.Fold the bottom portion up to cover the middle protion and the top portion down.
  7. Press the dough gently on the edges with your rolling pin.
  8. Roll the dough out to a long & Repeat the folds one more time, cover and chill for 20 mins.
